The young immagrants who are not willing to learn English should not be discriminated against, nor should the people who take longer than others to learn the language. This preposterous idea that Senitor Ried's assestment that the "English Only" bill its self is racist is putting words in other people's mouths. How would anyone take what one says out of context if someone says that a piece of legislation is racist. I don't think that anyone believes that illegal immagrants are too inferior to learn English, but then again, if these illegals (dark-skinned anglos) are in this country to work for cheap pay, for the benefit of white corporations, at the expense of African-Americans (light-skinned, or dark) then why would matter if anyone thinks that the "English Only" policy is racist or not?
