Many news stories report that blacks are dying at a disproportionately high rate in the Iraq War. One article, written by Thomas Hargrove on Apr. 12, 2003, mentioned that 20% of the military deaths in Iraq were black soldiers. That was almost 13 months into the war but after 2+ years the numbers are much different. Approximately 12% of the casualties in Iraq have been black. For the record, white casualties are at over 72%. The United States consists of approximately 13% Black Americans. As you may have guessed, these new results have not garnered the same attention as the initial results.
